A Little Mint To Keep Track of Your Personal Finances
These are tough economic times. The unemployment rate is at 9.7%. Dual income families are being reduced to single income families. We work harder than ever before to keep the money coming in. Part of the financial frustration is managing your money. Some of us use pen and paper. Many of us use our banks web site. Yet others use financial software like Intuit's Quicken. There is one application that I have come to truly admire over the past year -- Mint.com. This is a free web based financial service which was founded in 2006 by Aaron Patzer. Today, Mint is a subsidiary of Intuit and they plan to "combine ...

Amazon Purchases NY Based Touchco to Compete with Apple?
I find it curious that Amazon is taking the fight to Apple. In my professional opinion this is an unfair match -- with Amazon being on the losing side. Perhaps therein lies the problem -- Amazon is no longer the giant in this space. Yes, agreed Apple started the fight with the combination of price matching and service (iBook Store). Then to add insult to injury Macmillan gets cozy with Apple so I understand Amazon's need to attack. And Steve Jobs wasn’t being coy about it, saying this morning: “Amazon’s done a great job of pioneering this functionality with the Kindle. We’re going to ...

Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international humanitarian organization that was created in 1971. MSF provides aid to nearly 60 countries. 21st Century Classrooms- Time to Know
Fire up the Flux Capacitor The next time you have a parent-teacher conference, take a quick glance around the classroom, and see it through the eyes of your child. If you have more technology sitting in your pocket, than in that room, your education system is stuck in the Dewey Decimal age. Outdated Unfortunately, most schools in the world still rely on the outdated educational methodology of around 200 years ago. This digital discontinuity is becoming a roadblock to achievement, leaving students unprepared, ill-equipped, and restless. It is no wonder why the most common complaint from students is that school is B-O-R-I-N-G. When kids get ...

Your living room TV is under assault! I am not talking about your kids throwing Wii remotes at it, or spouses sabotaging your inputs just in time for Sunday football, or not having any juice left in your rechargeable Logitech Harmony Remote, or even those tiny little fingerprints on the screen that make you go coo coo for cocoa puffs. I am talking... [Read more of this review]

So we pick up 2010 right where we left off 2009 – speculating what Jobs will be announcing on January 26th at the Yerba Buena Center. It has been reported that the... [Read more of this review]
